Training your AI

Training turns your documents into a private model, usually in just a few minutes (up to around 15 for large datasets). You can close the tab and it keeps going.

Before you start

Two things need to be in place before your first training run.

• Confirm your email. This is required before any training can start.
• Upload your documents under Datasets first. See Adding knowledge if you want to add facts without retraining.

Run the training

Go to Train in the top navigation, then work through the steps below.

• Pick one or more datasets to train on.
• Choose a foundation. Standard is available on every plan. Expert (27B), our larger model for Business, is coming soon.
• Give your AI a name.
• Optionally open Advanced settings to adjust training intensity, and to set a custom system prompt on Business.
• Start training.

Your data is private and is never used to train shared models.

Limits by plan

• Active AIs: Starter 1, Pro 3, Business unlimited.
• Trainings per month: Starter 15, Pro 60, Business unlimited.

Training vs. knowledge

Train when you want to shape your AI's voice and behaviour. Training is the slower path because it builds a new model.

For new facts, use Knowledge instead. It is instant and needs no retraining.

Improve it later

Use Deepen training on an AI to refine its persona and voice on more data. Your chat history is kept.
