Adding knowledge

Knowledge is information your AI can use instantly in every chat, with no retraining. Under the hood this is retrieval-augmented generation (RAG): your AI looks up the relevant facts as it answers.

What you can add

You can give your AI knowledge in three ways:

• Files: upload your documents.
• A web page: paste its URL and the content is brought in.
• Typed notes: write or paste text directly.

Where to add it

There are two places to add knowledge, depending on whether you want it everywhere or just once.

• From an AI's Knowledge panel: available in every chat, so the facts are there for all future conversations.
• Attached to a single conversation: add context to one chat when you only need it for that thread.

Training vs. knowledge

Both shape how your AI behaves, but they do different jobs.

• Training: bakes in voice and behaviour. Slower, and it uses one of your trainings.
• Knowledge: adds facts instantly. No training used.

Citations

Answers show which sources they used, so you can see where each piece of information came from and trust the result.
