Chatting with your AI

Once an AI is trained, you can chat with it from the AIs section. Replies are grounded in the knowledge you have given it, so the answers reflect your documents rather than the open web.

Start a chat

Open a conversation in a few steps:

  • Go to AIs in the top navigation.
  • Pick the AI you want to talk to.
  • Type a message and send it.

Each conversation is saved, so you can leave and come back to it later.

Grounded answers and citations

Replies are based on your knowledge and show their sources, so you can check where an answer came from.

  • Each answer is drawn from the documents you have trained the AI on.
  • Sources are shown alongside the reply so you can verify it.
  • With "answer only from knowledge" turned on, the AI gives a fallback reply when it does not have the answer rather than guessing.

Per-chat context

You can attach extra documents to a single chat without changing the AI itself. This is useful when you want to discuss a one-off file in the context of an existing AI. The attachment applies only to that conversation, so the AI's trained knowledge stays the same for everyone else.

Reasoning mode

On Pro and up, reasoning mode lets the AI think through harder questions step by step before it answers. Turn it on when a question needs more careful working, and leave it off for quick, everyday replies.
